Work enables us to make a living and achieve self-fulfillment. However, if we work we work without taking a break, we will feel miserable, and even get sick. Human are not like machines, we need some kind of outlet to release our feelings. We should live a balance life. First, we must work hard and try to do our best at work. Then, we should have recreation. For example, dancing, playing games, and chatting with family are good ways to help us relax. After break, we can return to work and full of energy. In my opinion, I think when it’s time to work, we go to work, but when it’s time to relax, we go to relax.

I had a discussion of superstition last Friday in my conversation class. I made a big mistake. Making everyone laughed. There is a superstition in Taiwan. A woman who is pregnant can’t touch and use sharp things, such as scissors, knife, and fork. They believe those sharp things may hurt some part of baby’s body when he or she in mother’s body. Here comes my mistake. I said fork was forbidden to use, but I said pork was forbidden to use instead. Everyone confused that why a mother could not eat pork when she was pregnant. Before I said this superstition, I had already reminded myself not to say pork, but fork. I still forgot. When I realized that I made a mistake, it was too late. Everyone laughed loudly, but I felt really embarrassed.

The development of industry has brought prosperity to Taiwan, but has also caused some serious pollution problems. For example, the air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution. The government and the public should be responsible for solving these problems. How we control the pollution? First, encouraging people to use unleaded gas to reduce the vehicle exhaust. Second, to concern with the water pollution, we have to use the waste of chemicals more carefully. Third, for the noise pollution, we must prevent drivers from honking at the midnight or turn on their music loudly. But, only by strict laws can prevent people from producing pollutions. It is really important to control the pollution.

No one is perfect in this world. I am no exception. Working hard is one of my qualities. I will achieve my goal if I do everything with my might. Therefore, I not work hard on my schoolwork, but also work hard on my job. However, I have faults, too. Sometimes I feel shy when I work, so I forget to have a smile on my face. Maybe some people will think that I am serious and not easy to get along with. In fact, I just don’t know how to express myself. Therefore, it’s important to identify a person’s qualities and shortcomings. Then, I can learn to be more friendly, but not shyness.

Everyone has his or her own habits. Good habits make us healthy and popular. For example, if we have good habit to brush teeth after a meal, we can avoid tooth decay. And if we have the good habit to say ”Please”, “Thank you”, and ”Sorry”, we won’t get in trouble. On the contrary, if we have bad habits, such as lying, stealing, or rudeness. Some people may think us as an impolite person. The worst is that we may become the trouble in our society. Therefore, we have to form good habits, but get rid of bad habits. Then, our society will be more harmonious.

My neighbor almost drive me crazy because some ridiculous behaviors. For example, he likes to park his car between my home and his home. Every time when my father wants to drive his car out of the garage, his car always obstructs us to go out. Although we have told him not to park his car so closely to my home, he still presents that he is mindless. I don’t know why he likes to do this stupid action. But he has already annoyed my family. If he does this action again, I will call the police to solve the problem.

As I mentioned that my grandmother has cancer at her right breast, but she has already had the surgery to get rid of the bad tumor. Sadly, she is getting weaker and weaker after the surgery. And she also has diabetes. It makes her wound not easy to recover. Her situation is not good. The doctor told us she had to have chemotherapy. For me, it is a bad news. I worry about her because she is too old and I am afraid of her body can’t stand the chemotherapy. It will make her get weaker than before. In order to recover quickly, I hope she keeps the therapy, but not to give up.

I had a quarrel with my parents today. They wanted me to keep studying to the graduate school, but my opinion was that I didn’t want to keep studying. Although they say that they have enough money to support me, but I want to make money first after I graduate from university. The reason why I want to earn money is that I don’t have any working experiences. I want to get the job and to get the experiences. No matter how much money I earn, having the working experience is important. I hope my parents respect my decision. If I wanted to keep studying, I would use my own money, but not theirs.

I have some problems with my mother recently. She doesn’t want me to live by myself. When I mention that I want to move out, we always have the quarrel. She thinks that I have to live with her because I am her only one daughter. I know that she worries about me if I live alone, but I am an adult. I have to be independent now. I don’t want to rely on my family, especially my father. He is getting older and older. I hope that I graduate from university quickly. Therefore, I can earn money to support them.

Catrina was a hurricane which caused all New Orleans in flood. People who died in this disaster were over 1000. At least 1 million people had evacuated from this area. A mayor of New Orleans had declared that this city could not live at least 3 to 4 month because the poison chemical, gasoline, the excrement from human beings, and the dead body would cause the disease. There were still 100 thousand people stocked at there. However, the public security was broken and people had started to raise the price of gasoline. It was really horrible. All the contribution from all over the world and the Red Cross also had taken part in to help the citizens through this natural disaster.

I stayed up last night, so I got up late today. When I rode through the underground passage on my way to school, there was an elder stopped at middle of the passage to pick up her stuff. But, no one noticed that she was there. Then, an accident happened. A motorcycle in front of me hit the elder’s motorcycle first. I didn’t know she had already hit the elder’s motorcycle; therefore, I kept riding on my regular speed. But, it was too late for me to notice that it was an accident there. Suddenly, I could not control my brake and hit their motorcycles. Another motorcycle behind me hit mine, too. This accident caused at least four motorcycles hit together. Actually, it is really dangerous when picking up stuffs at a non-stop underground passage because everyone won’t stop.

Christmas is coming. Initially, I didn’t like to celebrate Christmas because my family did not celebrate this day. But, my friend, Jocelyne, invites me to join her Christmas party this year. She told me how fun their Christmas party last year. For example, she told me they had a piece of paper with a number in each balloon. Everyone had to tie many balloons on their feet. When the party began, they had to step on the balloons to get the number to change the gift. She told me that her feet were swollen because everyone stepped on her feet strongly. I know it is fun, but a little crazy. I guess I will join them, but I don’t want my feet to get hurt.

Google and Yahoo are the famous websites in the world. There are many similarities and differences between Google and Yahoo.

First, I am going to introduce their similarities. They both have search engines that provide people can search the information they need immediately. Their E-mail services both have large space for you to store your data. The blog service also can put your articles or photos that you like on it, such as you can write your diary every day without on paper or put some funny on it, for its storage space is enough for you and the guest have to be invited by you so that they can browse you blog. Therefore, you do not have to worry that strangers will disturb you.

Second, I am going to analyze the difference between Google and Yahoo. Yahoo has dictionary service and auction service, but Google dose not have these. Both these two service in Yahoo, I think these services make us more convenient. The dictionary service let us know the word that we do not know and show us how to use it. The auction service makes us convenient, too. For instance, we do not have to go shopping in a hot day, but just click the merchandise that we want, then, the seller will delivery goods for you. Yahoo has music service and instant messenger, too, although Google has Google Talk like the instant messenger, but there are still some differences. Take the instant for example, Yahoo has its won instant messenger software and now MSN messenger cooperate with Yahoo so that it can communicate a person immediately, but Google Talk is not, it is in the mail service. We have to log in Google mail and the person must also have to log in Google mail so that they can communicate with each other. It is really inconvenient.

To sum up, Google and Yahoo are convenient searching engine for people to use, but still have some differences between them.
